Thing #3- Utilities
I have been pretty familiar with utilities on my Android cell phone. I use the clock app I installed a long time ago as my alarm clock; There is a limit to the number of times I can hit "snooze", by the way. I use the QR code reader fairly often. These were already installed on the iPad I'm using. There was one app I really missed, though: Google Search. I have been trying to adapt to Safari, since this is my first experience with an Apple device, but I just don't care for it. I installed Google Search on the iPad and am a much happier camper now. For one thing, the search box is a lot bigger, and I can just plain see it better. All my other Google stuff is right there, handy to access. That's my definition of "utility".

23 Mobile Things, Thing #2
Well, that was discouraging. Evidently my Droid phone, which is 2.5 years old, is too obsolete to have any recent tips or tricks published for it online. I did find a Droid for Dummies website that had tips and tricks, but they were all pretty basic, and did not add to my knowledge base with this device. So, I switched over to working with an iPad. I have zero familiarity with any Apple device so the learning curve has definitely been an incline. Since I had a starting base of no knowledge, all the tips and tricks were new to me. I found that I do better watching the video tips and tricks than I do reading about them. So far, it has worked very well to watch videos on my regular desktop computer, while trying to follow them on the iPad. Since I'm so new to this device, I can't say that any particular tip has stuck out for me. I need them all!

23 Mobile Things-Thing 1-how I named my blog
Well, the water is REAALLY hard on the lake this morning; it was -25. So I thought that would be a good name for a blog I'm starting in the coldest winter in Minnesota for many years. Hopefully learning 23 mobile things will take me far, far away, at least virtually, to warmer waters that normal people cannot walk on. And I hope to learn how to use apps on my Smartphone more efficiently, so that eventually I will be smarter than my phone.
